Dedicated, determined, hardworking, motivated, passionate. Just a few of many words that can be used to describe the remarkable person Jared was throughout every part of life. He was very philanthropic and volunteered the little time he had at local humane societies, food banks, blood drives, and assembly hall events. He had an uncanny ability to talk to people and was a natural at interacting with individuals of all ages. At the University of Illinois there was never a moment to stop and rest with his double Majors in Finance and Accounting, double Minors in Spanish and in Technology and Management alongside his invitation into the Illinois Business Consulting Program. Beyond this, he was philanthropy chair of his fraternity, president of Technology and Management, secretary of New Life Volunteering Society, and Team Leader of the Illinois Business Consulting program. He stopped at nothing but the best and literally changed the lives of those around him, constantly pushing them to reach their full potential. He possessed a great love for his family, friends, children, running, animals, traveling, and life in general. His personality and smile were infectious. The way he lived his life is truly inspirational. Joshua Jared Hardy was so rare, so bold, so strong, and so beautiful. April 29th, when he was just 21 years old, all of his big dreams came to a screeching halt when he passed away suddenly of a heart-related problem. He accomplished more in his 21 years than most accomplish in their entire lives. This world is most definitely a lesser place without him. His passing left everyone that had the true privilege of knowing him in immense pain and despair. All that can be done now is the honoring of this amazing young man, passing on a little of what he taught us all. In regards to running, he possessed incredible athletic ability, participating in both cross-country and track throughout high school. His long list of achievements only begins with All Conference and All Area titles for both sports. Due to his intense passion for running, what better way to celebrate his incredible, yet short life but to do a 5K run in his honor. He’ll be running with each of us every step of the way!
